No. This calculator provides a general, indicative estimate only, based on the information provided, and does not constitute legal advice. Your actual score depends on the information in your Expression of Interest and Registration of Interest and on the criteria in force when you submit it. Speak with one of our migration lawyers to confirm your score and discuss your Victorian nomination strategy.
Possibly. Victoria has indicated that the detailed eligibility rules for its 2026–27 program will be released once the program opens, and it has named particular industries and occupations to prioritise within that program. Your score and occupation should be checked against the current criteria close to the time you intend to submit a Registration of Interest.
No. Victoria has stated that it does not give priority because of an applicant's individual situation, including an upcoming visa expiry or documents that are about to lapse. Your ranking comes from the scored factors.
No. Victoria expects applicants to satisfy two sets of requirements: the Commonwealth criteria for the visa itself and Victoria's own criteria for nomination. Your Victorian Points Test total draws on details from both your SkillSelect Expression of Interest and your Victorian Registration of Interest.
No. How competitive you are depends on where your score sits against other applicants and how many nomination places are available. Victoria does not give any indication of the likelihood of an invitation, and neither an invitation nor a nomination is guaranteed.
There are two invitation options. Under the most competitive option, the top-scoring Registrations of Interest in the whole pool are invited, whatever the occupation. Under the priority industry option, Victoria prioritises certain occupations in industries with critical skills needs and invites the top-scoring Registrations of Interest within each of those industries.
No. Victoria does not apply a set cut-off score. In every round, the Registrations of Interest with the highest totals receive invitations, so the score needed can move from one round to the next.
Your total draws on seven areas: your age, your English language level, how many years you have worked in your nominated occupation, your qualification, the skill level of that occupation, your partner's skills where relevant, and your annual earnings from skilled work in Victoria where relevant.
The Victorian Points Test is the Victorian Government's system for ranking Registrations of Interest when it selects applicants for nomination under Subclass 190 or Subclass 491. It is separate from the Department of Home Affairs points test, and both play a role in the process.
