Visa cancellation happens when the Department of Home Affairs or a tribunal decides to bring a valid visa to an end because of a legal or regulatory concern. This can happen before or after grant, and depending on the circumstances, it can mean losing lawful status, facing a risk of detention, or being removed from Australia.
