Costs Involved When Applying for a Visitor Visa in Brisbane
Government visitor visa application fees
Effective from 1 July 2026, government charges for the Subclass 600 visitor visa depend on the stream applied for and whether the application is lodged inside or outside Australia. The Business Visitor, Sponsored Family, and Approved Destination Status streams each carry a base charge of AUD 250. The Tourist stream is AUD 250 when lodged offshore, but AUD 630 when lodged onshore, with a AUD 700 charge for a subsequent temporary application lodged onshore. The Frequent Traveller stream carries a significantly higher base charge of AUD 1,845, reflecting its longer validity and multiple-entry design. No additional applicant charge applies to any Subclass 600 stream. These charges are reviewed annually and may change from 1 July each year.
