Canberra Matrix Score Calculator

This calculator estimates your Canberra Matrix score for ACT nomination under Subclass 190 or Subclass 491. Answer a few questions about your circumstances, occupation, and current location to determine your indicative score, and whether the resident or overseas applicant pathway applies to you.

Calculate My Canberra Matrix Score

Canberra Matrix Calculator

Estimate your Canberra Matrix score for ACT Government skilled nomination (subclass 190 or 491). This is a self-assessment tool only — it does not submit an Expression of Interest and is not a guarantee of an invitation. Always confirm your position against current invitation rounds and criteria at act.gov.au/migration before relying on this result.

Points are only valid if you meet the category's minimum criteria on the date you submit or update your Canberra Matrix, and any points claimed must be evidenced in your supporting documents. Invitation thresholds change each round — a higher score improves your relative ranking but there's no fixed pass mark.

Our Success Stories

よくあるご質問

Is this calculator a guarantee of my actual Canberra Matrix score?

No. This calculator provides a general, indicative estimate only, based on the information provided, and does not constitute legal advice. Your actual score depends on your ability to substantiate every claim with supporting documentation at the time of submission. Speak with one of our migration lawyers to confirm your Canberra Matrix score and discuss your ACT nomination strategy.

Does my Canberra Matrix score affect my visa application directly?

The Canberra Matrix determines your ranking for ACT state nomination, not your visa grant itself. A strong Matrix score improves your chances of being invited to apply for ACT nomination, but your visa application is still assessed separately against the relevant visa criteria.

Can I update or withdraw my Canberra Matrix once submitted?

No. Once submitted, the Matrix cannot be updated or withdrawn. If your claimed points later turn out to be incorrect, whether due to an error or a change in circumstances, you must submit a new Matrix, and this will also reset your submission date and time.

What happens if I cannot prove the points I have claimed?

Every claim made on the Canberra Matrix must be supported by documentation at the date you submit or update it. If your supporting documents do not substantiate your claims or demonstrate that you meet ACT nomination eligibility criteria, your application will be refused.

Does meeting the eligibility criteria guarantee my score will be ranked or invited?

No. Meeting the category criteria does not guarantee that your Matrix score will be ranked or that you will receive an invitation for ACT nomination. Ranking and invitation outcomes depend on the ACT Government's assessment and the competitiveness of a given invitation round.

Is the Canberra Matrix the same for everyone?

No. There are two separate Matrices, one for Canberra residents and one for overseas applicants, and each is assessed against different criteria and categories. Selecting the wrong Matrix for your circumstances can affect your result, so it is important to confirm which pathway applies to you before submitting.

キャンベラ・マトリックスとは何ですか?

The Canberra Matrix is the ACT Government's own points test, used to assess and rank applicants for ACT state nomination under Subclass 190 and Subclass 491. It is separate from the Department of Home Affairs points test used for your skilled visa Expression of Interest, and both are required at different stages of the process.
